Are you experiencing knee pain?
The most common cause of chronic knee pain is the patellofemoral syndrome. There are many terms used informally such as “housemaid’s knee”, “secretary’s knee” or “runner’s knee”. How can you tell if you might have patellofemoral syndrome?
Symptoms include:
- ache in the knee
- pain aggravated by impact (running, jumping, stairs)
- pain from prolonged sitting
- swelling and stiffness
- lack of strength in the knee joint
- “crepitus” – clicking/grating sensations
